Happy Chinese New Year! Well... apparently it doesn't happen until Jan. 26th, but what the heck... I had to get an early start :)
I'm going to have the best year EVER! I just found out that my bff, Nicole is coming here for my birthday at the end of the month! WHOOO HOOOO! She booked her flight two days ago, and I've been excited ever since! It's my birthday, but my husband is turning 40 that week too, so we are having a big little shin dig. I'm so happy Nicole will be here to celebrate with us!!! I'm gonna pick her up at the air port, take her to a bar (that serves lunch of course), and get the weekend started quickly! LOL!
But in other news.... the stuff you might actually care about... LOL! I'm giving away the two projects I made below, as well as an ox stamp and a word stamp to one person. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and you will be entered. Please leave your email addy in the comment if you do not have a blog to link to :) Thank you!!
I was commisioned to make a cute little Ox stamp for A Muse. Stephanie really wanted some for her store, and she wanted something cute... not mean and fiesty lookin :) So I came up with this little guy. I've had him in my hot little hands for a few weeks, but I am just now getting around to sharing! This stamp is available locally at The Paper Garden, and via the internet at A Muse!
The first little project I made is this calander plaque thingy... that's the scientific name. I told you I'm loving stamping on wood these days. These little pieces of wood are available at Michaels for about 60 cents a piece. I added some cute paper, stamps and a little calendar I got at Stephanie's store.
The second project I made is my other current obsession... making people with punches. I used the Marvey punches to make this cute little girl. The pink circle punch is her face and bangs, and the yellow scalloped circle punch is her pony tails. I used the speech bubble punch from Fiscars, and I finished it off with another one of those cute little calendars.
In other news... I listed two Pottery Barn duvet covers on ebay here. Does anybody still do ebay? I don't even know, but I was cleaning out some closets over the winter break, and these have to go. I bought them for my girls' room, but I never got around to using them because I would have had to repaint to match them, and now I'm over it. I found something I like better at Ikea.
And just one quick picture to show you why I LOVE living in California (nevermind the budget crisis, and levy problems, and high property taxes... ) we get to have 75 degree weather 2 days after Christmas and the ice cream truck came by while the girls and I were outside cleaning out rain gutters and washing out cooler boxes! HELL YA BABY! THAT'S my kind of winter!! (If I had zoomed out a little bit... you would see the wreath still hanging on my door, and Christmas lights still up! I'll need to think about that next time!)

My little sister is adopted from China, we adopted her when she was 16 months old, she turns 12 this december, going to big school in september! We are always looking for little ox things for her (and year of the pig for our other adopted sister). I would love to be able to give her the ox stamp, she would absolutely love it, it would be perfect for her handmade cards :-p please count us in the give-away. Rebecca

Looks like maybe I DIDN'T comment here! Hmmm... I think it was cuz I couldn't decide which was cuter, the calendars or the smiling girls, and then something shiny walked by and I forgot altogether. Live to be 50, you'll see!!

I love that Chinese New Year Stamp....too bad you didn't make one for the Year of the Rat. I would have bought that in a second...I'm a Rat. :) You should make a set of all twelve animals. It would totally rock, because you make the cutest things.

Gung Hay Fat Choy! I would love this stamp set to use to decorate my goodie bags for the Chinese New Year Presentations at school. Wonder if AMUSE has any of the other zodiac animals? Found your website while trolling for good ideas and you have many of them. Keep up the good work!

Man I want those stamps! The ox is darling and I so want him to come live at my house. Your wood stamping was a great inspiration for me. Thanks for being such an inspiring and generous crafter.

I'm so jealous of your weather! We had snowfall in totals that put it taller than me (which is either a comment about my shortness or the ridiculous weather--I'm not sure which). Love the little ox!

I think you'd be secretly jealous of the cold, crisp winter air (makes you feel *alive*!) and all the lovely snow and winter birds feeding near out window. ;-)
I would *love* to win one of your projects! Thanks for this giveaway!!!
Good luck with all your b-day party plans!
