I'm an awesome dancer... for real... it's not fake!

Because I don't have enough to do in life!  LOL!  Don't forget to come see me at Fibertastic this weekend on March 8th!  Here's a link to more info from an earlier post.

I had to share this hilarious movie of me dancing with my kids.  We are super fabulous, and obviously it runs in the family because not one of us is better than the other.  And I have after all, tought them everything they know!  And a big shout out to Rosie for sharing her version on her blog... so i could make my own version!  WHOOT!

And YES... we have been working out, as you can tell from the movie... our arms are very buff... you can not do these dance moves if you don not take care of yourself.  And that picture of my donut eatin' belly from the previous two posts... or when ever that was... ya... that's a thing of the past. LOL!

I promise to return to CRAFTY POSTS after Sat.  I do have a show you know... in case you missed the first sentence of this post... so you KNOW I'll have some crafty pics from there!

much luv.....

OMG! My daughter's a COVERGIRL!

Img_5394 I am one proud mamma right now!  I did an interview for a magazine called Sacramento Parent a few weeks ago.  The idea was craft moms of The Sacramento Craft Mafia!  Well the whole thing was just lucky.  Another story fell through, so this story was very last minute.  I did the interview with Tammi of Roxycraft and then about a week later we had the photoshoot at my house :)  So the lucky didn't end there... the author was fabulous... then the photographer, Alex, was brilliant, and THEN Daisy got picked for the cover!!!!!  WHOOO HOOOO!  A big congrats to Alex too, because I'm fully aware that cover shots have to be PERFECTLY framed, lighted and well done... so obviously Alex is the one who deserves all of the kudos... but I can't help being so proud too!  Even though all I did was show up!!!  LOL!

The full article will be available on the Sacramento Parent site starting March 1st for all of you that didn't see it or can't see it because you are too far away.  And you have to check out Alex's blog too because she also put some shots that weren't in the magazine there.  (I shamefully stole this pic from her blog because the magazine isn't out here yet, so I don't actually have a hard copy yet :)  Sorry, Alex, but thank you!  LOLOLOL!

And for any of you that need family photos, I HIGHLY reccomend Alex.  She was so great with the kids and she had great ideas for the photos.  I couldn't be happier with how we were portrayed through her lense :)  THANK YOU ALEX!  and Thanks too to Lisa, the author, and Amy the editor!  You guys rock... I may even add you to my Christmas list!  LOL!

Wow... now that was a STORM!

So we weathered the biggest storm of my adult life this week.  It's California, so we don't really have inclemant weather THAT often, but this was bad.  On Friday, the rain and winds did so much damage.  I would say that AT LEAST every third house has either a fence down, a huge tree down, or at least a major portion of a huge tree down.  The storm only lasted about 7-8 hours, but it's been raining off and on ever since.  We were fortunate enough to only loose electricity for about 3 hours, but many of our neighbors were out for most of Friday, so we had lots of company, and we offered out our ice chests and ice to keep everyone's food cold.  We also kept our house really warm in case we lost electricity again, it would give us a nice base.

Here's a pic of the girls in front of a downed tree across one of our cross streets (and this tree fell Friday, and it looks like this today!!)  It is not the biggest or the most damage in the neighbor hood, but it is the one impeding the most traffic!  LOL!P1018134

P1018132

We spent over $2K last month removing a HUGE tree from our property because this is exactly what we were afraid of .... but only afraid it would fall on our house.  So we were lucky to only lose part of our fence.  But I've never seen such strong wind... it really was scary for us California natives.  LOL!

Disneyland... the art of!

So we had a fabulous time in Disneyland!  The weather was beautiful and the food was good (meaning we didn't actually eat AT Disneyland... LOL!)  My mom and I drove down with the girls on Wednesday and home on Saturday. The drive is long but fun.  My mom got a brand new car, a GMC Acadia, and it is so awesome.  My poor husband.... I want one so bad now, it's all he's gonna hear about for the next year!  LOL!Day3

I love the art of Disneyland.  There is an art gallery above Pirates of the Carribean and I could spend hours there... but it was closed for remodeling while we were there.... but I did manage to snap some pictures of the art hanging in the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney.  I also snapped some pics of the pins that are in the anime style.  I love that Disney has picked up on this because I do love this style soooo much!  I couldn't afford to buy it because really what purpose does it serve?  So there was no justification... but I did take pics so I could share it with you all!!Anime

And we rode Nemo (which if your from California... you've probably heard, the lines are like 3 hours long) but on Wed. when we got there, the line was only 35 minutes!!!  So we jumped right in it!  The kids were maybe a little hungry, but we didn't care... we told them, we MUST RIDE THIS NOW... or we might not get to.  But that is what Disneylan is all about afterall :)... forcing your kids to have fun... not stopping for food or naps...trying to fit it all in a shorter time than you had anticipated... it's fun tho, right?  Here are some of the pics from Nemo:Nemo

And we did the Mickey's Halloweentime Trick or Treat thing.  This is a seperate event from Disneyland.  It happens at Disney California Adventure AFTER the park closes, and you have to have a special ticket.  All of the Disney villans are out roaming the streets, along with some other cute witches, clowns, etc.  Then the kids ride the rides, go trick or treating, and there is lots of dancing.... dancing dancing dancing!  Till you can't dance no more... well I could have... but the kids had had enough.  LOL!  I can't say enough about this event!  It is so fun and memorable!  (On a side note... getting their costumes ready was super stressful for two reasons  1.  I am crafty... so I feel my children should have especially elaborate, fabulous, crafty costumes.  and 2.  the store bought costumes were TRAMPY and SKANKY this year!  What the hell is that all about???!!!!  They took ADULT porn star type costumes and shrank them down to size 8's???  Fish nets and everything!!???   So we ended up with a victorian style queen.  That was Gracie and it was store bought... but it fit her perfectly.  And little Daisy was a Pirate Girl which was half bought and half made.  Neither costume was particularly fabulous, but hey... at least they weren't skanky!!)  Here's some pictures from that!Halloweentown

And finally, I leave the powers at Disneyland (namely the marketing team) with these thoughts:  (well let me first say, for those of you who don't know... Disney's catch phrase for last year, and then extended further for another year.... has been "The Year of a Million Dreams" )  So during the last year, Disneyland cast members (aka employees) have been making random guests' dreams come true.  People are picked out of crowds and given shopping sprees, free meals, fast passes and more.... and Disney has vowed to give away a million of these "dreams" every year.... well here's what I think about that... TERRIBLE BAD NO GOOD VERY VERY BAD IDEA!!!    The marketing team should seriously rethink this one.... and here's why:  500 million people go to Disneyland every year... so that means 1 in 500 will have a dream come true... it may be a fabulous dream, or it may be just a free meal... but only 1 in 500 will have this experience.  So in other words.... 499 out of 500 people will go home with nothing, all though possibly having witnessed some other person getting a "dream"  So what kind of good marketing is it to please 1/500 people???  I'm not sure... and then extending it for a year on top of that????  DUMB!  I personally have been to Disneyland with my family 4 times since this promo started... and we have witnessed TONS of other people getting their dreams made... but we have never recieved any dreams :(  and if anything we leave the park feeling bitter and mad!  So to the marketing people at Disneyland... PLEASE STOP!  LOL!  rethink what you are doing here!  It's bad marketing... I know you can take it cause your a huge company that has people that will patronize your business no matter what (especially since you've successfully brain washed our kids (collectively with McDonalds :)  BUT still!  Think about it!Day1

That is all... the end of my rant!  LOL!  Thanks for listening!  Luv ~ Missy

nascar update

I promise to get back to craftiness after this last nascar post.  I'm kind of in bunny mode since I signed up for Debra's bunny swap and I have to ship it this week, so I drew some really really cute bunnies, and I'll have pics of those in a few days, and I've been working really hard on Glitter and Grunge since I got home too!

BUT!  in the meantime, here's the lowdown on Nascar.... IT WAS SO FUN!Nascar1

My kids hated it.  They had fun on Friday playing in the trailer and all of that, but by Satuday they had had enough of the heat and the noise and the dirt.  SO my mom (who only lives about an hour from the track) very graciously came and picked them up Saturday morning and kept them for the rest of the weekend where they had way more fun swimming and hanging out!  So... that was a nice break for me too!  I got to drink!!

We loved our camping neighbors and made friends... they were awesome people!  And they made this drink called Yucca... and everyone has to shake the jug and then we drank it straight from the jug.  I felt like I was in college again, which was a good thing.  LOL.  It was kind of like a big lemon drop.  I tried my hardest to get on TV, but I don't think I did.  I got lots of compliments on my custom shirts, so that was fun... made a lot of friends doing that too!  The race was awesome, we had great seats, and there was a little bunny that hopped across the track at one point and we were all standing up yelling go go!!  Cheering him on... and I know he made it across the track, but I'm not sure he was happy.  Poor little fellow :(

The top pic is with the kids, and the bottom pic is post kids... if it looks like I was having a little too much fun... I was.... but why not?  It's only once a year right!?  and now I'm all rested and rejuvinated and ready to get back to work!

I seriously missed my computer... how sad is that!Nascar2

Happy Father's Day!!

Happy father's day to my dh, Bryan, and my dad, Zinn!  We had an awesome brunch at Sacramento Brewing Company, and then we went to camping world, and home to NAP!  I had all planned out to write something sappy, but with only 23 minutes left in father's day, I don't have time... or energy.... so just know that I love the dads in my life... and here's some pics:

P1014060 P1014080 P1014087

The lady at Camping World asked if we did anything special today for Father's Day, and I said... the girls are wearing dresses, and they are dressed like twins... what more do you want?  LOL!  It literally killed Daisy to wear this dress.  She took it off 4 times in the hour she had it on before we left for brunch... said she couldn't go potty in it, it was in her way... I said that's the price you pay to be beautiful, she grumbled and went on got her favorite tomboy clothes... which are princess t shirts with shorts... always shorts!  (and she pulled out her ADORABLE side pony I put in for her!  GRRRR!) Gracie liked her dress tho... she twirled in it about a dozen times.  A great big shout to Gramma for buying the dresses too!  The girls looked really cute!

photoMy growing boy

P1013596 NO!  That bump under my shirt is not a baby... it's my love for Mexican food and Krispy Kremes... I'm talking about my dog you guys!  And you have to love the white trash truck, garbage can, and END sign in the background huh!

Well the end sign, my dh put up as a joke because this old crazy drug addict that lived a few doors up "forgot to turn" (we live at the end of a street, like the top of a 'T' so you end at our house and have to turn left of right, or go into our drive way) and she crashed her piece of crap car into my gate, then into our boat which then went into our trailer)  She scared the crap out of me... cause I heard the whole thing and ran outside, so I yelled at her a little bit and then stuck the cops on her!  Alas, there was nothing they could do because she is legally on METHADONE!  and still gets to drive.  So, hence, the end sign.  And the white trash truck... it's sentimental.  It's the truck Bryan drove when we were dating... I haven't ridden in it in like 5 years... but I do still like to see him drive it every once in awhile.  It makes me giddy.

P1013598 Here's a better pic of my big boy.  I just love him so much.  We took him to get him "tutored" as we like to call it last week, but his liver had elevated levels of something... so we are waiting a few more weeks, he'll get tested again, and hopefully everything will be fine and he can go and get smarter.  If not, they'll do some diagnostic stuff... I'll have to work a lot to pay for it, and my teddy bears will be stuffed with poly-fil and weighted down with vet bills.

I'll be back soon with some crafty updates... I promise... just like I promised that teddy bear tutorial... damn it... I forgot again... sorry.  Tomorrow looks good for me.. I'll do it tomorrow.. I promise (again :)

Happy Birthday Dear Sweet Gracie

Graciesbdaycollage She's 6 today!  And she is so beautiful and wonderful.  I was not one of those mother's that was in love with my bump... but the second Gracie came out and I heard her voice and saw her beautiful face, I was lost and gone forever... in her.  It never even occured to me, before she was born, to wonder what her voice would sound like... but now I can not imagine a world where I don't get to hear it everyday.  She is smart, articulate, talented, loving, determined, audacious, and she is one of the loves of my life.

The last 6 years have been the best ever, and I'm sure the future will be just the same.  I predict that Gracie's 6th year will be full of dancing, laughing, playing, bossing around the little sis, wrangling the dogs, camping, learning, and loving.

Have a Happy birthday Gracie, and mommy loves you!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mom's out there!   I just have to take this few minutes to tell you tho... that MY mom is the best :)

Disneyland101706firstday_170 This is me, mom, and the girls at Disneyland in October.  Check out our DL bling (the rings!)  We go to DL at least a couple of times a year, and my mom is the best!  She's always such a trooper... riding the rides when it's time, or sitting out with the sleeping baby when it's time for that.  She's always really great about searching out healthy food when everyone is tired and needs a pick-me-up!  There is no better DL partner than my mom... and let me tell, THAT means something because Disneyland is NOT easy!  LOL!

She's always there for me when I need her.  When I was in the hospital waiting to come home after I had Gracie (my first) where was my mom.... she was at my house scrubbing my floors and cleaning my bathroom so I didn't have to worry about that for awhile.  She was primping the beautiful roses she got me, and making happy birthday cupcakes... and when she was done with that, she was shopping for nursing bras.  She really is the best... a lifesaver.  When I'm having a meltdown... she's the first one there to do the dirty work.  If it's the house that's breaking me down, she helps me clean.... if it's the kids driving me crazy... she entertains them... if it's the stress from an upcoming show... she's right there gathering supplies to help me make my goal.  She's the jack of all trades and she's the best!  Speaking of shows... if you ever see me at a show... chances are you'll see my mom there helping me.... and if she's not... it's only because she's watching my kids!  But whenever I have a show... she's there!

She's never NOT there when I need her.  Just last week, I had a sinus infection and it was 100 degrees here.  Gracie had a softball game and there was just no way I could go.   Bryan dropped Gracie off at the game on his way to work, and my mom was there to pick her up for me... and not only did she pick her up from the game... but then she took her shopping to get her a new outfit for her spring sing the following night, and topped it all off by bringing me Taco BELL!  Now that's love.  Taco Bell is my fav... and apparently I come by that honestly because she says she would drive an hour to get TB when she was preggo with me... and we both really love it.  I told her I was starving... and she knew just what to get me... well she always does!
Disneyland101706firstday_183 I could go on and on about all the things she's good at (like cooking, sewing, decorating, organizing, antiquing).... but there's just not enough hours in the day!  So instead I'll just end with a great big Thank you!  I love you, and HAPPY MOM'S DAY, from me and the girls!

can't wait til our next DL trip!  Maybe when the girls get older these DL trips will evolve into all girls weekends seeing the rest of the darn state!  LOL!
