Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all of you mom's out there!   I just have to take this few minutes to tell you tho... that MY mom is the best :)

This is me, mom, and the girls at Disneyland in October.  Check out our DL bling (the rings!)  We go to DL at least a couple of times a year, and my mom is the best!  She's always such a trooper... riding the rides when it's time, or sitting out with the sleeping baby when it's time for that.  She's always really great about searching out healthy food when everyone is tired and needs a pick-me-up!  There is no better DL partner than my mom... and let me tell, THAT means something because Disneyland is NOT easy!  LOL!

She's always there for me when I need her.  When I was in the hospital waiting to come home after I had Gracie (my first) where was my mom.... she was at my house scrubbing my floors and cleaning my bathroom so I didn't have to worry about that for awhile.  She was primping the beautiful roses she got me, and making happy birthday cupcakes... and when she was done with that, she was shopping for nursing bras.  She really is the best... a lifesaver.  When I'm having a meltdown... she's the first one there to do the dirty work.  If it's the house that's breaking me down, she helps me clean.... if it's the kids driving me crazy... she entertains them... if it's the stress from an upcoming show... she's right there gathering supplies to help me make my goal.  She's the jack of all trades and she's the best!  Speaking of shows... if you ever see me at a show... chances are you'll see my mom there helping me.... and if she's not... it's only because she's watching my kids!  But whenever I have a show... she's there!

She's never NOT there when I need her.  Just last week, I had a sinus infection and it was 100 degrees here.  Gracie had a softball game and there was just no way I could go.   Bryan dropped Gracie off at the game on his way to work, and my mom was there to pick her up for me... and not only did she pick her up from the game... but then she took her shopping to get her a new outfit for her spring sing the following night, and topped it all off by bringing me Taco BELL!  Now that's love.  Taco Bell is my fav... and apparently I come by that honestly because she says she would drive an hour to get TB when she was preggo with me... and we both really love it.  I told her I was starving... and she knew just what to get me... well she always does!
I could go on and on about all the things she's good at (like cooking, sewing, decorating, organizing, antiquing).... but there's just not enough hours in the day!  So instead I'll just end with a great big Thank you!  I love you, and HAPPY MOM'S DAY, from me and the girls!

can't wait til our next DL trip!  Maybe when the girls get older these DL trips will evolve into all girls weekends seeing the rest of the darn state!  LOL!

HP Update!

Handmade Parade was this weekend! It was super fun and I had such a great time meeting all of the crafty ladies that went to the show.  Thank you to everyone who vended and to everyone who came!  There's me and Claire in front of Claire's garage... she made that cute banner.  I'm wearing my favorite apron of all time that Nicole made me... cause that's what best friends do.  We did shows together for a long time, but shows just aren't what they used to be... so it's hard for us to make expenses when we are traveling.  At least when I have my apron... part of me feels like she's there with me.  Plus I just talk about her all the time!  LOL!  I have to admit that I was a little grumpy on Saturday.  Daisy has had a double ear infection and pink eye all week, and now I have a sinus infection.  I still need to go to the doctor for it... but I was hoping it would clear up... no such luck :(

These are some cool pics, but if you really want to get a feel for all of the super fabulous stuff that was at HP, you have to go to the flickr group and spend some time looking thru all of the awesome pics!  And if you see stuff you like, then all of the crafter's blogs are listed on the Handmade Parade Blog.  It's my goal to list them here too... I just haven't done it yet!

Tonight we had a Sacramento Craft Mafia meeting.  We mostly talked about what we're gonna do for Bazaar Bizarre.  We are having a raffle basket with a donation from each member.  We are hoping to raise money this way.  Apparently it is illegal for us to have a raffle unless we have a non-profit certificate... so instead we say this:  if you DONATE some dollars to our group, we will give you tickets this great basket of goodies!  Here's a pic of just some of the awesome stuff that will be "given" away to a lucky donator!  LOL!

If you would like to donate some dollars to our group, Let me know, and I'll put your name in the drawing that many times :)  I'll give ya all the details if you email me :)  All of this stuff is going to be wrapped up in a vintage record bowl and there will be some more goodies added to the pile!  We are fundraising to pay for advertising schwag for our group as well as costs of having a website and networking and all that garb!

We also did our Sac Craft Mafia group photo tonight.  Our colors are black and white and pink... but really anything goes!  This is one of the pics I think is fun... but really they all are.     

Glittery forecast

I just made these notcards and put them on my Glitter page and I'm bringin them to HP this weekend. (which btw, visit the HP blog, Claire updated it recently and you can see some really great interviews with the vendors :)  These are the images I was thinking of using for rubber stamps.  They are just simple little line drawings... kind of primitive, kind of anime... what do you think?  I think they are fun... but not sure I want to make the investment.  I would have to sell each stamp (rubber, mounted on wood) for about $9 because I would only be ordering a smaller amount.  The price goes down if you order more.

And I finally made some toothfairy pillows to sell too (if your new to my blog, there's a tutorial for these here).  I'm going to sell them at Handmade parade this weekend, and they are on my glitter page as well :)  I used all sorts of scrappy fabric.  I actually made 9 of them.  I tried to make several of them unisex... but i LOVE pink.. so I had to do some pink ones too.  My mom hooked me up with this project.  She stitched the teeth to the felt pockets so I could move right along with some of my other projects I'm working on!

And this is the little bear that I'm modeling that free pattern I'm supposed to be posting for you.  It's really simple but sweet and cute!  It reminds me of a dog toy.  So how much do you love your dog?  Would you make him a dog toy from mohair?  LOL ... cause I know my doggie loves mohair!  But of course you can make him from fleece too!  There is no way I will have the free pattern done before HP, but look for it next week... I'm promising it!  Right here in black and white... so I can't flake!  :)  LOL
