This is a funny one....
So we were watching Sarah Palin speak at the convention the other night. It was during dinner time here, so we were all huddled in the living room eating our dinner because I really wanted to hear what she had to say. The kids were talking to each other because they were SO uninterested. And I kept telling Gracie about how big this is and how this really means something to little girls... and she was so annoyed with me because she just really didn't care. And on top of that, everytime the girls started giggling or playing, we shh'd them. So long story short they are just DONE with politics. Dinner ended, the speech was still going, and I shuffled them off to showers and beds.
The next morning I got Gracie (who is 7) up for school. I had Good Morning America on, and they were recapping the Sarah speech and showing a clip. Gracie was rubbing her eyes, and this is what she said.. "DUDE!! She's STILL talking! Uh!" I about died laughing!
Republican or Democrat... I don't care who ya are... but to everyone who is wondering can she do it? with 5 kids and one of them being a newborn with special needs. Yes she can... and she can do it better and faster I'm sure. The children will not suffer from it, but only be enriched by it. Sorry... I had to say it. :)
FANTASTIC POST! nothing else to say...SIMPLY FANTASTIC! :)

You're dead on about Palin, she's great and anybody who disses her is just jealous. She's much more charming than Clinton, and her moral compass is right on target!!! You also have to realize Palin is not a feminist, she's a woman not afraid to speak her mind and not afraid to do what she feels is right. She hasn't caved in to the NOW philosophy.

Well I don't agree on a political stand point, but your daughters comment is just too funny. Totally reminds me of something my own 7 year old would say. I love those witty little comments out of little ones.

yay!! I agree! I hope she makes it all the way!

Thanks for your comments! Well said! I applaud her, and I believe she will do a great job!

I'm with Mary and Belinda! I read an interesting comment today that I have to agree with 100%
What scares Pink are women who consider the Alaska governor's selection a feminist victory. "This woman hates women," the singer said. "She is not a feminist. She is not the woman that's going to come behind Hillary Clinton and do anything that Hillary Clinton would've been capable of ... I can't imagine overturning Roe vs. Wade. She's not of this time. The woman terrifies me."
She's the boogywoman in my book!
Posted by: Missy | September 13, 2008 at 10:38 PM
Exactly! I can't believe more woman aren't insulted that people are even questioning if she can do it or not. I guess we haven't really arrived after all.

You're amazing. I linked to you from a web that my daughter had on hers. Crafty Crow. So creative and fun.
I thought Sarahs doing what the feminist were all fighting for. Anyway she will have a ton of help and a great hubby. Nothing is tougher than a Wife, Mom, Community service, Church work and the attainment of presonal goals. I'm new to this blogging thing and I heartily applaud all of you who are so consistently creative, talented and manage to post something so interesting that people come back for more.
Hey that's something companies pay big money to an ad agency for. Hooray for you all. Thank you for sharing.

As the mother of 5, one of which has profound disabilities, I applaud her.
Hey, I am so sorry about the tooth fairy post. I posted right off the bat not mine and did post the link to the original. I had NO idea that it would be a problem or that someone else would post MY post as if I were the originator! I am just so sorry. I have deleted the post. When I get some made in a couple of weeks, I will post my pics and link to your tutorial! :) :) Thanks for your gracious comment!!!!!

My husband is an executive in the fisheries and has worked with Palin. And honestly we have been dedicated Republicans but if you knew her, you would also know how absurd it is that she could possibly be President Palin with McCain's 1:3 odds of not completing his term based on age. This will be the first time in my life's history that I will be supporting a new party. Even McCain and Bush do not agree with her position on ANWR and I am deeply disappointed in her support of the Pebble Mine project in Alaska. I am a fiscal conservative and torn by that position with Obama, but Palin has got to go!
Posted by: Nicole | September 10, 2008 at 01:48 PM
Well of course she can do it, I'm sure she has help!

P.S. Geraldine Ferraro did it first!

I think admiring someone, and wanting them to be a heartbeat away from the presidency are two different things. (Though I wouldn't mind having some of Palin's energy!)
I'm with Gracie! I wish they would all stop talking!
Posted by: Carolyn | September 10, 2008 at 10:06 AM
I'm afraid I don't agree, politically. But Gracie's was hilarious! Hehe!
Posted by: Mary | September 09, 2008 at 06:43 AM
I agree with Belinda above. Palin is worse than Bush in my eyes. She's no Hilary Clinton.

LOL! LOVE Gracie's reaction!! Reminds me of when I was 9 years old... and this pesky Watergate news story pre-empted all my favorite television shows LOL!!!

FUNNY! You have to admire someone with so much energy!!

I always look forward to seeing the cute things your doing, but I have to say that Palins nomination is not a big thing for women its just sad that were so desperate to have any woman in there that we think that. Pitbull and mother should not be used in the same sentence sorry.

I surely couldn't do it -- probably even with no kids ;-). But she's got gumption, doesn't she -- smart as a whip too -- a rare bird!

I totally agree. Wasn't sure until I heard her speak and then I just 'knew'. This was a real woman. Like me. Gotta love that.

I want to be Sarah Palin! Or at least keep myself that attractive and prove out to be so smart and capable! I hope she is everything she has been presented to be. I hope she and her family can stand above the scrutiny and SHOW THEM ALL!
