2009, and 2010 kinda sucked for me. I lost my crafty mojo super bad. I was bitter and angry about some of the process of being a crafty gal in this here internet age... but 2011 is looking better already. A few months ago, I got my craft room all cleaned up and organized, and I have been super happy re-joining the crafty party. I think in anything in life, there are mountains and there are valleys... I'm sure glad that's all over now :)
This year, I'm starting a 365 project. It's not new, lots of people have been doing it for lots of years... but this year, I'm joining in on the fun :) You can find my project here and follow me! And I'll follow you back! You can join at 365project.org. This is my first picture. And it is kinda crafty, but I intend on making this project more of personal photos rather than crafty ones. We'll see how that goes :)
I'm also pledging to be a part of THIS cool project on Elsie's blog! It's called project restyle, and it's mainly about using your creativity to make old things new again. I think, we as crafters, do this already and have been doing this for years... so the idea of doing that is not new. But what is NEW and VERY COOL about this project is that Elsie and Rachel have given us all a chance to share our projects in their flickr group here. It's a voice for us! A way to be heard and seen. And all the while we get to do what we love and be creative with it! Also, it gives me incentive to work harder on using reclaimed items... and a little bit of accountability... I like that. So I'm very excited to pledge to be a part of this project in 2011. The inspiration is already flowing! Whoot whoot!!
And what else is 2011 bringing? Who knows. But I'm just happy
that I'm sewing again... very happy :) And here's a little teaser for you: on my desk right now there is a doll...that looks like she has chihuahua eyes. I don't know where she's heading, or how she's gonna turn out. Maybe a little dark, and gothic, maybe not, but I hope to have her done by Monday. And nerd glasses. That's gonna be big for me this year too. Elsie and Rachel do a lot with glasses... I think they can really take credit for being a huge part in starting the trend. But the glasses are so endearing I'm having a hard time resisting... so we'll see :) har har.
